This product allows read-only access to the data - it is only available for the Professional range of products. This single product allows users to view both TM and Patent data . i.e. the viewer works against any combination of:
For users who, for example, have the xen-PAT system for maintaining their data but also license xen-ProView to allow other users to view the data, then the viewer will by default have access to any TM data also. For xen-PAT users in this example, the TM records will simply be blank.
When used with xen-IP, users can seamlessly 'switch' between modes to view both types of data - during the 'switch', the interface presentation is changed to the appropriate context for the IP type being managed.
xen-ProView is typically used where the IP department wants to give view access to people outside of the department, or in the case of an agent, to their clients.
The data-owner can decide what data is to be published via the viewer, so for example an agent may decide on a monthly basis to send each client a copy of their portfolio. The agent can separate out the data by client - in addition the agent can decide, for example, not to send payments information nor the document store. The agent also decides what username/passwords the client is to use to access the data. The agent then creates the read-only database, copies it to CD-ROM and ships it to his clients.
The client, who has a licensed copy of xen-ProView, accesses the data using the provided username and password. The user sees the data exactly the same as the agent sees it except they only see their own data, and only see the subset the agent decided to provide. Only read-only access is provided, however in all other aspects the system is fully functional, including the report generator.
