Software Requirements

xen-IP Range

• Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, or later. 
• Microsoft Office/Word XP, or later, if you want to perform mailmerge of Word documents. 
• Adobe Acrobat 4, or later, if you want to perform mailmerge of Acrobat documents. (Note that the full Acrobat product is required to create and amend the documents but Acrobat Reader can be used to perform mailmerge operations by other users to obtain printed copies. Also, please note that the functionality for creating and amending forms is only available in the Professional editions from version 6 onwards). 
• A SQL Server database.  SQL Server Express is available free-of-charge from Microsoft and full details of how to download and install are in the xen-IP Installation Guide.  SQL Server Express is suitable for implementations of 1-5 users and runs on the following versions of Windows...

xen-Web

To use xen-Web you will need a Web Server supporting the following:

• Web Server software which supports Active Server Pages
• Data access middleware to allow the Web Server to communicate with the xen-IP database
  (xen-Web is configured to use Microsoft OLE DB for ODBC which is included in many Windows installations and also in Microsoft Data Access (MDAC), contact Xensis for advice if you want to change the database connection technology)
• A SQL Server or SQL Server Express Xensis database on a PC or Server networked to the Web Server
  

To use xen-Web on a client, you only need an Internet Browser with no additional software being required.  Currently, xen-Web only supports Microsoft Internet Explorer.

xen-SE Range

• Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows 7, or later.
• Microsoft Office/Word XP or later if you want to perform mailmerge of Word documents.
