Considering all of the above parameters may put people off ever moving to a new system.
How do we achieve data-take-on? Xensis tackles this in a number of ways. Firstly, if you have local IT expertise, Xensis can provide full database structure information and models which will allow you to map your existing data onto the Xensis data model.
Alternatively we can do the work for you - we charge you on a time basis. We have already undertaken conversions from the well known competitor products so already have transformation scripts available. It is unlikely that this activity would take more than a couple of days.
The way it works is that Xensis sign a confidentiality/non-disclosure agreement. You send a subset of your production data to us in a secure media that we specify.
We keep your data secure and confidential on our premises - once the conversion is complete we ship the data back to you in the new format ready for import. You check the data and if OK then you freeze your production data and send a full copy to us (whilst we have been working on the transformation scripts you have continued maintaining your data in your production system) - we quickly run the scripts on the new data and ship back for you to import and check.
Once you give the OK we then delete all copies of the data from our systems - we certify that this has been done. Since we already have the scripts and do not have to travel then our costs are kept to an absolute minimum. Your data's secrecy is guaranteed. Alternatively we can visit you to do the work but this increases the costs.
Coming soon is a neutral file converter where we give you a simple neutral file format. You then export your data, manipulate it so that it is in the correct format and then import it into the new system - that way you stay in control, and further reduce your costs. The downside of this is that the format of the old system needs to be known and facilities available for data exporting.
This new neutral file process will be a two way transfer, so in the unlikely event you wish to move the data out of the Xensis system into another system then the reverse process can be used for exporting.
